I found some of these sites ok…I personally spent a lloooonnngg time searching for the best prices (ie I would lok at the same hotel on each site to see which one had the best deal once I thought I had an option)….Sometimes you have to search around and not every site has the best deals on every place you go.
Here are some to help you start…..as I said I just cruised a few, got ideas on prices and found the best deal. I have also put some hostels here as some are good for options (private rooms are ok)

you have to pay the all thing upfront.
but the cheapest way is to book directly with the hotels.
No fees if you have to canceland they will charge you only the first night, which means more flexibility.

I’ve used hotels as well as some Europe specific sites in the past. I suggest trying out a couple, if hostels are an option for you, they can be cheap, clean, a great way to meet people, and safe.
