Guide For Cheap Hotels

This is my little production of a flight demo of the famous North Amercan B-25 Mitchell medium bomber. The B-25 is powered by two Wright R-2600 14-cylinder engines of about 1,700 horsepower (depending on the engine model). This was the aircraft that was used by General Jimmy Doolittle and the other crews in the 1942 raid on Tokyo launched from the USS Hornet aircraft carrier. An amazing story of courage, daring and fortitude! This clip is dedicated to my Dad who flew B-25s during WWII.

Really, really noisy and hot inside and most all, one heck of a lot of F-U-N for a real warbird enthusiast ! Most of the exterior shots are of the Planes of Fame (Chino, California) B-25. The interior shots are from the Collings Foundation’s B-25 “Tondelayo.”

Diving in St. Croix

What do you do after finding it was more than a year since the last dive trip, and you want to get wet again? Once you have kicked course? Well the obvious answer is to abandon what you do and snorkel.

So I took my own advice and just returned from St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, where my son and I pretty plunged much brain for about a week. We also ate great food, a large part of the island, and chilled on our balcony overlooking the ocean.

Thus, St. Croix, why? Well, why not? On the one hand, I had not been there yet, and prefer diving to new locations. But I also have a friend who worked there as a divemaster, and I thought to take a point of view insider. After an email exchange with him some, and scouting on the web, I found everything he needed to get All reserved.

Considering how last-minute planning has been, the trip came out smoothly. There was some parameters to consider, namely that I wanted to make cheap and get a lot of diving – at least 2 tanks per day. Oh, and I wanted to eat fresh shrimp.

The best dive sites on St. Croix, is the famous "wall" along the north shore for about 7 miles or more. With this in mind I found shelter in a small, 9 room hotel in Cane Bay, which is just west of the mid-point of the north shore. As by chance have one of the best restaurants on the island is also on the same property.

The hotel is built on the right bank, which is rocky at this point, and all rooms overlook the ocean. The views are outstanding with St. Thomas and St. John on the horizon and his ever-present waves crashing on the rocks. In half a mile are some more excellent places to eat, and the dive shop, we used what is right opposite the beach at Cane Bay.

I highly recommend obtaining a rental car to get around the island. He played less than rely on taxi and because there is much to see, save money in the long term. The best way is to organize rent in advance so it is waiting for you upon arrival.

It worked well for us because there was a representative waiting for delivery luggage outside when we arrived holding a placard with our name on it. Just signed papers and left. Upon departure, I 'm parked at the airport, blocked the keys inside and left.

As for the case where the diving – definitely North Shore Wall. Several sites are an easy swim from the beach – maybe 200 yards, then down the wall that starts at about 50 and drops 3200. Keep an eye toward the north where you could see the occasional black tip sharks, manta or eagle ray swim.

Also make sure you dive Salt River where the wall was a giant coral heads, caves, and huge swim-throughs. The reef is healthy, vibrant and full of all kinds of marine life. I saw several stands of black coral, and an unusual number of trunkfish it.

While the north wall is great, there are a couple places of note in the end west which are also "do" dives. We are the wrecks. In fact, two sites – the more you tug and ferry creation of approximately 100 'to down. Many growth, but the structures are clearly distinguished – especially the wheelhouse on board the tug, and allows you to shoot great.

Also the western end is the Frederiksted Pier, which takes place a few hundred meters, and is one of the richest fishing areas that I seen. The debris on the bottom and piles contain all sorts of creatures, including coral band shrimp and sea spiders the dozen.

You're likely to get "inked" after striking an octopus trying to blend into the background as you swim, or watch them turn colors while hiding in some of the oddest places. The funny thing was this little boy locked in what appeared to be the top of a bottle of wine broken.

There is much more to see and do in St. Croix, including an interesting history. It is evident among the tens of old windmills, the sugar plantations once covered the island, and supported by an economy very different from today.
